Tasting Note

"Lovely, soft tannins with a juicy and flavorful palate of currants, slightly toasted oak and chocolate. It’s full-bodied and layered with a plush texture and a long, flavorful finish. Warm and rather flamboyant for the vintage. Try in 2025. 94 points" James Suckling

"Exhibiting aromas of rich currant fruit and creamy new oak, the 2019 Siran is medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully chewy finish. This is a flavorful, nicely balanced wine that will reward a bit of bottle age. Drink 2025-2045. 91+ Points" William Kelley, RobertParker.com (April 2022), April 2022

Producer

Siran is a little gem in Margaux and the wines are beautiful. Château Siran has 25 hectares under vine with an average age of 30 years. The soil type is alluvial sandy gravel and the blend generally comprises 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and the remainder Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. After fermentation in stainless steel vats, the wine spends 12-14 months in barriques; about 60-70% are new each year.
