Tasting Note

A slightly meaty aroma, sweet and meaty! There is dirt on the palate with liquorice and darker berries. A fabulous mature merlot. Real delicacy on the palate.

Producer

Originally a section of the Groot Constantia Estate (historically the wine supplier to European nobility), until recently, the farm had been in the hands of the Mylrea family who bought the farm in 1984. The property was sold in 2022 and is now under German ownership.

It was a massive fire in 2000 that destroyed both the native fynbos and the commercially planted pine forests which opened-up the opportunity to develop the site as a wine estate.
