Chateau La Petite Roque is the second wine of Chateau Monconseil Gazin which the Baudet family purchased in 1982 after originally having to sell it in 1894 in order to buy Chateau Monconseil. The estate is run by Jean-Michel Baudet, 5th generation winemaker, who took over from his father Michel Baudet in 1989.

The vineyards are situated near the village of Plassac, where clay-limestone soils and stony subsoil give excellent drainage to the vines and allow them to develop deep root systems to protect them against dry summers.
