In 1979 Carlos Esteva went to live on his grandfather's estate, and when he took over the family's vineyards, he introduced new varieties, methods of cultivation and decided to make quality wines that would give an identity to his estate.
There is a belief that nature should be allowed to take its course, so no chemical products are used, only organic fertilisers and spontaneous fermentations, meaning that you are really getting a natural wine.
