Cousino Macul

MAIPO VALLEY, CHILE

Juan Antonio Cousino emegrated from Spain to Chile in 1760, and little under a century later his descendants bought the Macul estate, 1000 acres of land with 54 of them planted with vines. They are now seven generations on and still remain in charge of the business. They want to make wines that are unmistakably Chilean, and I've been very fond of these wines since I first tried them nearly 15 years ago.
