Domaine des Anges
Established in 1973 by Englishman Malcolm Swan, with the aim of establishing a reputation for his wines as well as for the, then unknown, Cotes de Ventoux. Selling the property to an Irishman in 1989, Gay McGuinness, he stayed on as winemaker until 1998 before passing the reins onto Ciaran Rooney. Rooney, originally from Dublin but who studied winemaking in South Africa, ran the place until 2011 when Florent Chave took over.
The reputation built up by these successive winemakers has established Domaine des Anges as possibly the best domaine in Ventoux.
