Bellamico Falanghina Beneventano IGT 2019 75cl

£10.50

Tasting Note

"The Falanghina grape has its origins in Roman times and is now making excellent and under-rated wines north of Naples. A soft floral nose is followed by a delicious fruity flavour on the palate and a lovely crisp finish."

Producer

At the end of the 19th century, Francesco Rocca started his business by selling wines produced in the south of Italy and in 1936 his son, Angelo, enhanced the wine production and built a cellar in Nardo, Apulia.

The 60s brough the first bottling line and the start of production under the Rocca brand, lead by Angelo's son, Ernesto, and by the end of the 90s, they had bought a farm in Leverano, in the heart of Salento.

In 2009, Rocca family became the major shareholder of the historical winery in Piedmont, Dezzani, brining new commercial and productive synergies.

Today, the family business is run by the 4th generation of the Rocca family, sharing duties and responsabilities between them (including a building company and a leading trot horse stud farm), and they are soon to be joined by the 5th generation.
