Francois-Eugene Brun laid the foundation of what would become Domaine des Tourelles in 1868. One thing that makes this producer interesting now is where it was started, in Lebanon. A country which could only have experienced more problems in recent years if it had been attacked by an actual dragon. Regardless of the politics around them Domaine des Tourelles has produced a fantastic red. The aroma is reminiscent of morello cherries which is reinforced when you taste it. Add in cassis and you have a truly splendid wine with gentle tannin and a touch of spice on the finish.
