Cillar d Silos Crainza 2019 75cl

£23.50

Tasting Note

Expressive fresh red fruit. Round, juicy, fruit-driven palate. This is almost silky with perfectly wrapped up tannins. No need to wait to fully enjoy it.

Producer

Cillar de Silos is located in the small village of Quintana del Pidio in Ribera del Duero. A family-owned company, it was founded by Amelio Aragon in 1970 and today it is run by his sons Oscár (winemaking) and Roberto (sales and management), and export manager daughter Amelia who is based in the UK. The bodega owns 68 ha of vineyards, mostly located around Quintana in the province of Burgos, planted on poor sandy soils at an altitude of 900 - 940 meters. Here, Cillar de Silos have unique access to some very old and special plots of pre-phylloxera vines for their top wine, Flor de Silos. Aside from the main Ribera del Duero operation, Oscár is also the consultant winemaker at Bodegas Pazo de Tizon in Ribeiro.
