The Domaine de La Vougeraie was created in 1999 and comprises of a selection of estates that have been acquired over time and integrated with the family's own vines. The history of the domaine dates back to 1964 with Les Evocelles, the first plot to have been acquired within the family, in Gevrey-Chambertin.

In the next twenty years the domaine grew to include the vines of Vougeot and their first plot on the Cote de Beane, and before long, this had kept expanding to create a closed loop, having acquired more land around Beane and adding Le Clos Blanc.

The domaine was created around an entity and a name, with La Vougeraie being the name of the family home and symbolising the filiation of Jean-Cleaude and Claiding Boisset with their two children, Nathalie and Jean-Charles. It is also a tribute to Vougeot which is the heart of the estate. Their passion is about revealing terroir through excellence. This philisophy is what has guided the work here since the very beginning, opting for organic practices on living soil to be carried out, and in 2001 adopting a biodynamic approach to now be entirely cultimated biodynamically.
