Such a lovely bottle of Monthelie - red berries and sweet cherry galore with a delicious savoury note creeping through giving structure and balance.

Producer

The current Duc, Maurice de MacMahon, has taken over the winemaking from his mother at the family domaine, L’Abbaye de Morgeot in Chassagne-Montrachet. The estate has historically rented vines and sold grapes to the leading Beaune negociants, but now they are vinifying and bottling the best plots under their own name.
