Chionetti Barolo DOCG Roncaglie 2018 75cl

£43.50

Tasting Note

The colour is ruby red, slightly opalescent. When young, the nose has fruity and floral notes such as peach and marasca cherry and dried rose, hints of spices and liquorice. The taste is important, with a dense but well balanced and elegant tannic structure; a fresh finish.

Producer

A winery founded in 1912 and run by five generations of the Chionetti family. It is thanks to Quinto, grandson of the founder Giuseppe, that the marketing of the bottles with the name of the family really grew. Andrea then, the son of Quinto, decided to explore the potential of their vineyards and, as a result, they start to produce trhee crus: Sorì Briccolero, San Luigi, Vigna la Costa. Since 2015 the Chionetti family has purchased 3 vineyards in the Barolo area. The grapes are vinified separately, thus giving three distinct Barolo wines.
