Bold ripe raspberries and a wonderful intense midpalate nudging into red apple skin and cranberry, then you get a roundness from the oak on the wine too.

Producer

Alexia Russo pursued an international career in the luxury industry, whilst Caroline was in insurance, they decided to reconnect with nature and fulfil a childhood dream, to create a wine estate with organic viticulture. After obtaining their Professional Agricultural Certificate at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune and completing internships which included a stage with Sylvain Pataille, their first vintage was born in 2018. In the same year, Château de Garnerot was purchased, an 18th Century property, in the village of Mercurey, the Château has hosted for several years the Saint Vincent Guild, “Grands Jours de Bourgogne”, the “Saint Vincent Tournante” event, as well as many other wine fairs.

In the winery, Caroline and Alexia do their best to work in a natural
way. The grapes are handpicked and transported back to the winery in small crates. The whites receive a 24 hours cold maceration, before placing them in oak barrels where the alcoholic fermentation then takes place.

For the reds, the grapes are rigorously sorted. Depending on the batch, the grapes are partially or totally destemmed. A cold maceration process allows for a gentle extraction of tannins, pigments and primary aromas. The alcohol fermentation is carried out by the indigenous yeasts, unique to each plot and terroir. Depending on the need of each cuvée, pump-overs and punch-downs
