Tasting Note

"Just an absolutely brilliant Chablis producer - and this super wine is perfectly balanced, with soft stone fruit notes and crisp acidity and a fresh citrus finish."

Producer

This family estate is now encountering its fourth generation of winemakers, with Romain Collet representing this new generation. The company value both tradition and modernism in their approach and aim to let the terroir and the grapes speak for themselves.

Today, they cultivate 40 hectares of vines which are spread across the best slopes of the right and left banks of the Serein. They benefit from a wide range of climates, allowing a rich range, reflecting the typicities of the different terriors of Chablis.

The family made the decision to turn to sustainable and organic agriculture, with the majority of the land being farmed orgnaically and the rest being in organic conversion. They favour tillage to allow the root system to draw from the depths of the richness of the soils.

Their vines range in age with the oldest having been planted in 1932, reflecting the quality of their work and the benefits of healthy agriculture. The policy of this estate is to let the original terroir of the wines express itself, having minimal intervention in the elaboration of the wines both in the vineyards and the cellar. This allows the wines to represent the exaltation of the complex and exceptional minerality of Chablis Chardonnay.
