Chateau Siaurac 2019 75cl

£25.95

Tasting Note

"A sleeper of a wine - wet tarmac, sweet cherries and a little bit of redcurrant on the nose too. A darker, tar, chocolate coming forward. The palate has a grip of tannin, and then barbecued beef juices coming off. Buy now and drink over the next decade."

Producer

Another excellent value from this appellation adjacent to Pomerol. This estate was owned by the Baron Guichard family from 1932 until the new owners took over this past decade.

The estate has an impressive 46 hectares of vineyards, all in a single continuous plot, on the plateau of Neac. There have been enormous investments in both the bineyard and the chai by the previous owners (the Artemis Group).

The Chateau has been recently sold to the Credit Mutuel Arkea Insurance Group, who also own Chateau Calon Segur in St Estephe. All the vineyards have been in organic conversion and Chateau Siaurac has been officially organic since 2020.
