Alianca Bairrada 75cl

£8.95

Tasting Note

Intense berry and baked fruit aromas with spice and appealingly rustic notes. Vibrant plum and black cherry on the palate with liquorice hints, robust tannins, and finely poised acidity.

Producer

This is one of Portugal's largest and most progressive producers with 600 hectares across estates in 5 different regions from the Douro to Alentejo. Winemaker Francisco Antunes oversees this diverse range of wines achieving mid-priced wines from native varieties that are full of character and distinctly Portuguese but at the same time are approachable.

Aliança has been part of Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal since 2007 and all wines are now being brought under this name.

Since 2015 the Bacalhôa group is regularly audited for the scope of its ethican, social and environmental work, always receiving a green result and they are currently working towards Wines of Alentejo Sustainability Programme with the hope to be certified by the end of 2023, confirming good sustainability practices have been implemented across the vineyard, cellar and wine production.
